BESPOKE JEWELLERY INCL CUFFLINKS AND BRACELETS. The history of glass fusing (a process where compatible glass is fired in a kiln up to a temperature of 850 c) goes back to Roman times. The introduction of 'Dichroic' glass comes from the Greek word dikhroos meaning di for two and chroma - colour - i.e. two colours. When split by a beam of light the effect is stunning and is seen as numerous colours depending on what angle it is viewed and was produced in the United States, This visually amazing glass is produced by thin layers of metallic oxides such as silicon titanium and magnesium being deposited onto the surface of the glass in a high temperature vacuum furnace. The results are breathtaking. Light bounces from it and dependant on the light and angle it changes before your eyes. Only your imagination limits your design. I have come to glass design from an interior design background and as well as designing jewellery, I have tried to include the texture and unpredictability of fused dichroic glass with its beauty and uniqueness for use in the home. Be it glass tiebacks, tiles, splash backs, wall art or designs on plain glass vases. Each piece is unique - no exact replica can be made.
